Licence agreement
This end user licence agreement (EULA) is between you and Valerian. It applies to every Valerian tool you download, install or use, together with any updates. By installing or using a tool, you agree to it.
What you can do
When you hold an active licence, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use that tool on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, within any limits shown on the tool's store page (for example, a number of devices).
How long it lasts
Your licence lasts for the time your plan gives, as shown in your account. Adding time extends it. When the time runs out, the licence pauses: stop using the tool until you add more time. A lifetime licence lasts for as long as we make and support the tool. The Terms of Service explain plans and renewals in full.
Who owns the software
The tools, their code, designs and documentation belong to Valerian and its licensors. This agreement gives you a licence to use them, not ownership. We keep all rights we don't expressly grant here.
What you can't do
- Copy the software, except for one backup copy for your own use.
- Modify, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction.
- Get around, disable or interfere with licence checks or other protections.
- Rent, lend, share, sell, sublicense or distribute the software or your licence key.
- Use the software to break the law or anyone else's rights, or remove any copyright or ownership notices.
Games and third-party software
Our tools can work alongside games and other software made by other companies. Those companies are not part of this agreement and have not endorsed our tools. You are responsible for following their terms. Updates to their software can change or stop how a tool works.
Updates
We may provide updates and fixes. Some updates may be needed for a tool to keep working. Your licence includes the updates described on the tool's store page.
Licence checks and data
If a tool checks its licence online, it sends your licence key and an anonymous device identifier to our servers to confirm the licence is valid. A tool's store page lists anything else it collects. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle this information.
Open-source components
Some tools include open-source components. Their own licences apply to those components, and the notices are included with the software.
How this agreement ends
This agreement ends automatically if you break it, and it ends when your licence runs out without more time being added, or is refunded or revoked. When it ends, stop using the software and delete all copies. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.
Warranty and liability
The software is provided "as is". The disclaimer and the limits on liability in our Terms of Service apply to the software too. Nothing here affects consumer rights that the law says can't be excluded.
Export rules
You agree to follow United States export control and sanctions laws. You may not use or export the software in a country or by a person where those laws prohibit it.
United States government users
The software is commercial computer software, and United States government users get only the rights this agreement gives everyone else.
